Dr. Michal Abrahamowicz, PhD, is a James McGill Professor of Biostatistics at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. His core methodological research aims at the development and validation of new, flexible statistical methodology, with a main focus on time-to-event (survival) analyses of prognostic and pharmaco-epidemiological studies. He has also developed new methods to control for different sources of bias in observational studies. His collaborative research includes arthritis, cardiovascular, and cancer epidemiology. He is the co-chair of the international STRATOS initiative for improving the analyses of observational studies.

He published more than 395 peer-reviewed articles and supervised 21 doctoral students, 14 master's students, and 7 postdoctoral fellows. He has been an invited speaker at more than 40 major international conferences on 6 continents. In 2021, he was elected an Honorary Lifetime Member of the International Society for Clinical Biostatistics (ISCB), one of the two largest international biostatistical societies in the world.
