Dimitri Girier

Dimitri Girier (MSc) has been working in the field of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) for more than fifteen years and joined the Human Resources Department of the University of Montreal as Cheif Advisor in EDI in February 2019 after almost ten years as Chief Diversity and Inclusion Practice Leader at National Bank. His role at the University is to develop the EDI action plan for the talent component of the University action plan and to contribute via several committees to the other components of EDI within the University. Over the past few years, he has been responsible for all of the strategies aimed at having a pool of talent that reflects the population as well as offering a work environment that is opened and respectful of differences where everyone can deploy their full potential. He set up several employee networks, including one for women, he co-chaired a diversity and inclusion executive committee, collaborated with both the various HR functions and the business sectors in the deployment of EDI strategies. Since 2015, he has worked, among other things, on awareness strategies on unconscious bias and since 2019 on the development of inclusive leadership. He is regularly asked to participate in committees or working groups that aim to reduce inequalities and break down the barriers experienced by the various marginalized groups. Moreover, he is a member of the committee of experts in EDI with the Canada Research Chairs for the Dimension program.
